In Utah schools, kids have to memorize the state capitals in 5th grade. This book really helps. Some of the pictures and captions aren't my favorite, but overall, it really helped make memorizing not an overwhelming experience. In a time crunch and don't have time for the book to arrive? And for learning where each state is on the map, my kids use free online games by Sheppard Software. Here is the link. We especially like the States 3 - Expert. All my kids older than 5th grade can beat me at the game.
